Welcome to CMS Bloke

Welcome to CMS Bloke.

First let me introduce myself. I’ve been a software developer for over a decade but only arrived in the web development sphere in mid-2007. Starting with basic (I cringe when I say table-based) websites through simple xhtml/css to large scale cms based websites for various industries.

Along the way I’ve managed to pick up a workable knowledge of PHP, Javascript & JQuery, Ajax + a wee bit of Ruby and Python on the development side of things. As a result of managing a group of dedicated servers I’ve developed an interest in Linux system administration. Not much, but enough to set up remote systems and to secure and manage them.

The purpose of this blog is to

  • Share knowledge to those who may be just beginning their escapades in the world of web development and CMS.
  • To stimulate some mutually beneficial discussions on web development techniques and cms usage. Hopefully some of you readers will look at what I have written and discuss the rights and wrongs of what I am saying and help to create a better approach 😉
  • On the fun side of things to share my thoughts on technology, CMS systems and development in general.

Hope you enjoy your stay.
